A crown is one of the strongest ways of repairing a tooth which has had a large cavity or fracture. Crowns can be made from porcelain, metal, gold or zirconia and can be made to look very similar in colour and shape to the natural tooth.
We use local Perth laboratories to make the crowns for our patients, rather than outsourcing this work to cheaper overseas chains as many clinics do. We have chosen to do this because we want our patients to have best quality and workmanship and therefore the best results possible.
A bridge is a way of replacing a missing tooth, by preparing the teeth either side of the space so that they can have crowns which support the artificial tooth. It is permanently cemented onto the adjacent teeth, and can be an alternative to a dental implant or denture.
Veneers can be made out of porcelain or white filling material and can be used to improve the appearance of the teeth. This usually requires some preparation of the natural tooth to make room for the veneer to sit over the tooth without looking ‘bulky’.
